The 90-Degree Luminous Tunnel project in Kerman was designed and executed to create a striking linear lighting path within the urban landscape. In this project, the primary focus was on precision metal fabrication, sustainable infrastructure, and a dedicated lighting architecture. The overall structure is based on a series of repeated 90-degree metal spans that form a clearly defined and immersive transit route.
Structural Design of the 90-Degree Tunnel
The tunnel consists of 50 precision-engineered metal spans arranged in two facing rows. This layout creates a continuous and seamless path within the 90-degree tunnel, ensuring that the lighting effects remain uninterrupted throughout the entire length of the installation.
General Structural Dimensions
The support posts stand at a height of approximately 3 meters, with each span extending roughly 2.5 meters. these dimensions allow for unrestricted pedestrian flow while maintaining the tunnel’s geometric integrity across the entire route.

Foundation and Structural Engineering
Physical stability is paramount in the 90-degree tunnel project, requiring a heavy-duty, standardized foundation. To secure the supports, individual excavation was performed for each span. The posts are mounted on steel base plates reinforced with rebar networks, ensuring the structure can withstand high winds and environmental pressures without compromise.
Structural Bracing and Cabling Infrastructure
The main skeleton of the Kerman tunnel is built from high-strength industrial metal profiles. To ensure structural unity, metal bracing was executed along two parallel paths, keeping the 90-degree tunnel perfectly stable against vibrations or shifts over time.
Beyond the framework, a secure and isolated pathway was designed for the electronic cabling. Instead of surface-level wiring, the power distribution system uses galvanized cable trays finished with electrostatic powder coating to protect the wiring from moisture and physical impact.
Advanced Lighting and Protective Housing
The illumination for the 90-degree tunnel utilizes 4cm Full-Color Pixel LEDs. These components are powered by a safe 12V DC voltage, completely eliminating any risk of electric shock in public pedestrian areas. The pixel housing is crafted from high-grade polycarbonate, which is highly resistant to direct sunlight and damaging UV rays. For outdoor durability, the internal electronics are sealed with industrial resin. with an IP67 protection rating, these lighting systems are guaranteed to perform reliably in Kerman’s climate, resisting both heavy rain and humidity.
Secure Installation and Cable Management
A major challenge for electronic installations in urban settings is physical security. To mount the pixels onto the tunnel arms, specialized PLT mounting frames were used.
Implementing these frames within the 90-degree tunnel structure offers two critical advantages:
- Concealed Cabling: By fully enclosing the communication cables within the frames, the project’s security against theft or intentional tampering is significantly increased.
-
Aesthetic Uniformity: In addition to maintaining precise pixel spacing, these frames are color-matched to the main structure. This ensures a clean, integrated, and professional appearance during the day, free from cluttered wiring.
Smart Integrated Control System
The complex lighting sequences in the Kerman project are managed by a centralized smart control system. To manage light effects, each strip uses a dedicated control box. These controllers feature internal memory for storing animations and are housed in UV-resistant polycarbonate casings. To prevent water ingress, the internal components are sealed using ultrasonic welding and industrial resin injection at the power entry points. These IP67-rated control boxes are built to endure all environmental conditions.
Wireless Synchronization
A key technical highlight of this tunnel is the wireless communication network between the controllers. All control units are equipped with NRF communication modules, allowing for precise synchronization over distances of up to 200 meters. The system is designed so that as soon as power is applied, the lighting programs across all spans of the 90-degree tunnel sync instantly.
Lighting effects can be updated via a dedicated Android application. This allows operators to refresh the entire tunnel’s visual theme with a single command, eliminating the need to manually adjust individual components and making long-term management effortless.
Warranty and After-Sales Support
Operational reliability was the top priority in the design of the Kerman 90-Degree Luminous Tunnel. As such, all electronic components, LED pixels, and smart controllers are backed by an unconditional 18-month warranty from Erfan Sanat Isfahan.
Furthermore, this project includes 5 years of dedicated after-sales service. This includes technical support for any potential issues, software updates for lighting animations, and a rapid spare parts supply chain. This commitment ensures that the installation remains a safe and vibrant urban landmark for years to come, without any loss in performance or safety.
